The best golfers in the world have made fitness an integral part of their game and have forever changed Golf. Par 5s are now reachable in 2, fatigue is not as much of a factor, ball striking is more consistent, and scores continue to drop. Technological improvements in equipment have helped, but more than ever, Golf Professionals are investing in physical health. Most amateurs, however, have not taken advantage of getting their bodies in the best physical condition to play the game they love. It may be the shortage of proper fitness programs specific to golf, it may be that the information out there just doesn’t seem to fit the individual, or it may be the fear of injury or the lack of a personal plan based on individual needs. One thing is for sure – investing in your physical health will add to the enjoyment of your game!
When you have an injury that prevents or limits your participation in golf, it is valuable to have your injury rehabilitation program take into consideration the muscle and joint loads that are needed to safely return to playing golf. Our Golf Rehabilitation program will address these areas as well as help you to restore the correct postures and movement patterns that will allow you to return to golf sooner and with less risk of re-injury.
One of the factors that prevents the amateur golfer from playing like a pro is the breakdown of this sequence at some point during the swing. This is often caused by physical limitations that can be fixed with proper intervention. For instance, a weak “core” (hip, abdomen, and back) will prevent golfers from staying in their posture through their golf swing, resulting in inconsistent ball striking.

Your evaluation will lead to a personalized exercise prescription designed to address your physical limitations as they relate to your golf swing. We recognize that we are all not cut out to be touring pros, and setting aside several hours per day for golf fitness isn’t realistic. However, we can all take steps in the right direction with whatever time we have available. Your personalized Golf Strength & Flexibility program will allow you to maximize your potential by investing the limited time you do have in the physical limitations that will make a difference on the course. Often times a series of stretches, sport-specific exercises and some education can help to narrow this gap between amateurs and professionals. The Golf Rehabilitation program should be a good step in that direction.
