Port Orchard Staff
John Carlson, PT - Clinic Director
John has made Port Orchard his home and physical therapy workplace since 1989. He grew up in the Newcastle area then attended PT school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, graduating with multiple honors.
John has a unique perspective as both a patient and a provider of physical therapy, having been first introduced to the profession receiving rehabilitation for a knee injury then a traumatic bicycling injury to his shoulder and upper back. This has lead to a lifelong passion to always seek the best treatment interventions for every single patient.
John’s primary area of expertise and interest centers around mechanically oriented treatment interventions with eclectic hands on treatment style combined with leading edge functional exercise programs. He has attended a gazillion post graduate training courses and continues to pursue continuing education every year to further advance his treatment skills, all to enhance optimal recovery for his patients.
John lives in Port Orchard with his wife Ruth; he is the proud father of 3 children: Morgan, Peri and Shafer. He is an active member of the local Port Orchard Community, volunteers many hours throughout Kitsap County at team sport events and international missions work. In his spare time John enjoys local hiking, biking, snow sports, cooking, traveling and trying new adventures, best in the company of family and friends.
