A community-based exercise program geared towards bridging the gap sickness and fitness.
Thanks to advanced treatment options, survival rates are improving every day but that means that our patients and community members are living longer with the effects of cancer treatments. Your journey doesn’t have to stop here. Kitsap Physical Therapy offers a 2-phase process in facilitating the transition from illness to wellness to fitness. Our first resource is the Strength After Cancer program which is a physical therapy evaluation and post-cancer rehab program. Second is a new program called Kitsap Survivors, which is a community-based exercise program that focuses on providing a supportive and restorative role to address survivorship issues following cancer treatments.
How do I participate?
Kitsap Survivors is a referral-based program, meaning you need to be screened by a physical therapist to assess whether you would be more appropriate to participate in our one-on-one Strength After Cancer program or the group exercise program, Kitsap Survivors. Ask your primary care physician, oncologist, radiation oncologist, nurse navigator or social worker for a referral to our Strength After Cancer program to start your journey! If you have Medicare, Kitsap Physical Therapy can help facilitate this referral through scheduling your initial visit via Medicare Direct Access. Once you have been screened and given clearance to begin group classes, please make sure to complete and bring Kitsap Survivors paperwork prior to your first class.
When and where is Kitsap Survivors offered?
Kitsap Survivors is only offered at our Silverdale clinic. Classes start on November 4th, and will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-6 PM.
How much does Kitsap Survivors cost?
After the 2-week free trial, classes will cost $55 + tax per month.
