Scott was born and raised in Western Washington, primarily in the Redmond / Kirkland area. From a very early age he had interest in medicine, as well as a love for all things sports. This continued throughout his high school and college years. Scott played Men’s Soccer Team at Western Washington University prior to deciding to end his college athletics career and enter into the Athletic Training program at WWU. This is also where he met his wife Alison, who played for WWU’s Women’s Softball team (who was the winning pitcher in the 2008 National Championship game). Following WWU Alison and Scott got married, and decided to look at other areas of the country for Scott’s graduate schooling. Deciding on University of Rhode Island, they spent the next three years in the Northeast where Scott earned his Master of Science in Physical Therapy degree in 2001.
The Richards returned to Washington after that three years and Scott began his PT career with Kitsap Physical Therapy office in July 2001. Scott worked under the direction of now CEO Dave Damon for four years prior to becoming the Clinic Direction in our Bremerton office in June 2005, a position that he still holds today. Scott has felt incredibly grateful to be a part of a wonderful team of clinicians and support staff in Bremerton for the past decade, where he has been a part of some significant growth. Upon taking over the CD position in 2005 the Bremerton office had a total of 10 employees, and that number has now doubled to 20. Scott continues to focus on attempting to provide new and improved services for the local community. Scott has three specialty programs that he currently runs in our Bremerton office: Hand Therapy, Cardiac Conditioning, and Post-Operative Care programs. He is also working towards becoming a certified McKenzie therapist to provide support for KPTs growing Spine Care team.
In his recreational time Scott continues to be involved in sports as much as possible. He is the head coach of a North Kitsap Soccer Club select soccer team, and Alison has been hugely involved as a coach and mentor in North Kitsap Little League’s baseball and softball program for years. Their children Hannah and Zachary are just as involved in athletics as their parents are. Scott is an avid golfer, and tries to get out on the course as much as time will allow him to. Scott is also a massive Seattle Seahawks and Sounders fan, being a season ticket holder for both teams.

Shannon is a Bremerton native who graduated from Olympic High School in 2007. She was a part of the athletic training program which helped solidify her passion of being in the medical field. In high school, Shannon was a multisport athlete, playing on both the varsity women’s soccer and basketball teams, as well as playing on a year-round premiere soccer team for West Sound FC. She stayed local and graduated from Saint Martin’s University in 2011 with her Bachelors of Science. At Saint Martin’s University, Shannon was a key member of the Women’s Soccer Team and made the All-Academic Team 3 years in a row. She graduated with Tri-Beta honors for her outstanding GPA in all science classes.
After graduating from undergraduate school, Shannon joined the KPT family in 2011 at the Bremerton location as a PT technician. In her two years as a technician, Shannon gained experience and knowledge that she was able to apply once she began PT school. Shannon attended graduate school for physical therapy at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. While still in PT school, Shannon became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist which has supported her ability to help patients get back to their prior level of function. She graduated in 2016 and returned to KPT at our Bremerton location in August 2016. She states it was like she never left!
In the first year of being a new grad physical therapist, Shannon expanded her knowledge and earned the title of Certified Lymphedema Therapist after attending a week and a half long intensive continuing education course. The lymphedema specialty is now a thriving program that is not offered at many other locations in Bremerton. She also specializes in Oncology Management and is certified in Strength After Breast Cancer as well as LSVT, a specialized treatment for people with Parkinson’s Disease. She is hoping to become board certified in both Orthopedics and Sports within the next few years, as both specialties are of significant interest to her.
On a personal note, Shannon’s main priority is her family and being a new mom to her young daughter, Nyla. You can often find her hiking, exercising, golfing, reading a book or lounging with her family. From boating and kayaking in the summer to snowboarding in the winter, she enjoys all four seasons that the PNW offers and takes advantage of our beautiful state year-round. Please feel free to say hello if you see her out and about!

Sharon received her Master in Physical Therapy degree from University of Puget Sound in 2001. She joined Kitsap Physical Therapy and Sports Clinics in January 2002 to develop her interest in orthopedic and aquatic physical therapy. In addition to conducting her clinic’s aquatic therapy program, Sharon is a certified practitioner of the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment. She greatly enjoys the interplay of land-based and aquatic elements of rehabilitating a wide variety of injuries and chronic conditions. Sharon appreciates that the McKenzie approach empowers patients by providing the information and strategies they need to understand and correct their musculoskeletal problem and then to prevent future injury. And she loves the way the pool returns the freedom and joy of movement to people whose conditions limit physical activity on land.
Sharon spent her most of her childhood in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Europe. She first moved to the Puget Sound region to attend University of Washington. She enjoyed studying in Germany in the process of earning a BA in International Studies. After graduation, experiences working at a ski resort in Alaska and then bicycle touring across Canada and down the West Coast renewed her earlier interest in physical therapy.
Sharon’s personal interests now center around family activities with her energetic, nature-loving young daughter. Her spare time is often spent on the beach or in the woods, riding her bicycle or paddling the kayak. She enjoys living on the border of Point Defiance Park, but finds it well worth her commute to Bremerton for the benefits of a lovely pool, the camaraderie of caring and fun coworkers, and the opportunity to treat an interesting and rewarding community.

Greg is a Western Washington native, but a relative newcomer to Kitsap County. Born and raised in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, Greg went on to attend Western Washington University in Bellingham. There he majored in Political Science and was lucky enough to meet his wife Abby, a Kitsap County native.
Greg became introduced to the idea of physical therapy as a possible profession after being treated by a PT for a back and neck injury. Greg saw that as a PT, he could help others recover from injury by teaching the tools to manage their injury in the same way that he had. He went on to attend the physical therapy program at Long Island University in Brooklyn, New York, where he earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2012. His professional focus has been treatment of orthopedic injuries. He currently is living in Manette with his wife and their 3 children.

Erin enjoys learning and trying new things, any body of water that is salt, but especially dyes inlet where she grew up. Traveling, cooking, getting outdoors, and spending time with her family, especially her daughters Eleanor and Lucy, and her husband, Garrett.
She became an Occupational Therapist because of her love of the balance of collaborating with individuals to build something atop a foundation of science. It challenges her competence in the art of social skills as well as practice knowledge. Cheryl has life-long ties to Kitsap County. She grew up here, graduating from South Kitsap High School and originally went to college earning a certificate in Interior Design. Once she started a family, however, she realized the hours in that field were not conducive to raising her two daughters. While they were still young she made a well-timed decision to go back to college for PT.
When she graduated in 2003, she immediately joined the KPT family and has enjoyed treating, encouraging and educating a wide variety of patients ever since! While she stays current on taking the latest continuing education courses in outpatient orthopedic rehab, she has a special interest in working with the Geriatric population.
For the past 10+ years, she has taken courses on Geriatric rehab, Balance and Fall Prevention and she recently earned her Advanced Senior Fitness Instructor Certification. Cheryl now runs a 1-hour Senior Fitness class two days a week and says, “There is some crazy laughter and serious sweat that fills that hour!”Also, Cheryl helps with our aquatic therapy program at the local pool. Due to her dedication and diversity of experience in the field, she has been awarded the Recognition of Advanced Proficiency by the American Physical Therapy Association.
On a personal note, Cheryl’s main priority is her family. In addition to her 2 beautiful daughters, she remarried her high school sweetheart, Jacques, in 2008 and gained a step-daughter and step-son. You can find her taking long Harley rides with her husband, enjoying Broadway plays in Seattle, wine tasting with friends, camping, reading inspirational books and most definitely – you can always find her laughing out loud without hesitation!
