Kitsap Physical Therapy’s roots are in skilled orthopedic or musculo-skeletal injury and conditions care. Our early years focused almost exclusively on honing our skills and building our knowledge with regard to treatment of all manner of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.
That is the understanding of and treatment of injuries such as back and neck strains, ankle, knee, and shoulder ligament, tendon and muscular injuries as well as conditions such as joint stiffness or arthritis. Many of our therapists are board-certified orthopedic specialists.
This is a certification that requires a minimum of 2 years of work as a licensed therapist and then the passing of a comprehensive post graduate exam. As of 2019 there are more than 209,000 licensed physical therapists in the US with less then 16,000 that are board certified orthopedic specialists. As the knowledge base in the field of physical therapy has and continues to grow over the years Kitsap Physical Therapy staff have adapted by becoming increasingly specialized.
Subcategories within the more general area of orthopedics include some of our many areas of specialization such as post-operative care, TMJ, Amputee rehab, and hand therapy areas of specialty.
